The Body Politic

The Body Politic is a Vancouver Island-based band specializing in an accessible blend of metal and progressive rock. Starting with the name Valhalla, the band quickly began writing original material, and won the 2007 GotPop Battle of the Bands while all the members were still in high school. Since then, they have built up a formidable reputation, headlining local venues and opening for such well-known groups as State of Shock, Econoline Crush, Ill Scarlet, and Jet Black Stare. After parting ways with their longtime singer Lisa Innes, the band took some time off to perfect their evolving style, and find the right vocalist to complete their sound. With the addition of Sam Britton on vocals, Valhalla was ready to become The Body Politic. With a powerful yet sophisticated sound, The Body Politic is on the brink of great things.
